Who Are We: WOMEN’STEC
WOMEN’STEC is the largest provider of training for women in non-traditional skills in Northern Ireland. Based in North Belfast, we enable women to return to employment in non-traditional sectors.
Operating for over 20 years, we have been supporting women to break the barriers into non-traditional employment and training by creating a safe and welcoming environment in which to explore new opportunities and learn new skills. Some of the skills you can learn at WOMEN’STEC are:

- painting
- wallpapering
- electrics
- gardening
- tiling
We offer a range of programmes and courses aimed at women and youth including our #NotJustForBoys programme. This innovative new scheme encourages young girls aged 16-24 to explore careers in non-traditional sectors and provides links to industry through work experience placements and internships.
As well as skills training, we also offer a range of support services including CV writing, preparing for interviews, personal development and building community relations.
We work with our partners Wee Chicks C.I.C. to provide free on-site childcare to all students who use our services meaning that accessing childcare doesn’t become a barrier to engagement.
